OUR STORY

Business partners and Owners Matt and Genn Reed grew up showing livestock and being life-long animal lovers. When they met, Matt owned a 5-year old Standard Australian Shepherd mix named KODA. While not registered or able to show, Koda was famous in his own way. Often referred to as a human himself for his chill demeanor and welcoming personality to anyone he met. His loyalty to Matt and Genn was unmatched. Koda lived a wonderful, long, healthy life to the age of 14 when time just caught up with him. He was such a special part of our lives that we knew one day we would want honor him as best we could. While he was mostly known as Koda, his nicknames included Kodi and KO. Hence the perfect dedication to our special boy. To a stranger, maybe KO kennels would sound odd, so we decided to add a unique punch to that abbreviation. Knockout “K.O.” Kennels strives to provide all animal-lovers alike the option to have a knockout, top-notch pet, just like Koda was for us.

GUIDING PHILOSOPHY

Based out of Northern California, K.O. Kennels specializes in breeding and showing AKC Miniature American Shepherds. We breed for type, genetic integrity, good temperament, and structural soundness. Our dogs are x-rayed and examined for proper Hips, Elbows, & Patellas. Our dogs have also been DNA tested for FULL BREED DISEASE PANELS which include all available tests to date. All tests are performed in order to ensure a healthy, well-made breed that is built to stand the test of time
